This is the first day of a two-day workshop. You need only register in PD Place once.
Participants will learn how problem-based learning can be used as a framework to engage students in the engineering design process and learn the disciplinary core ideas and cross-cutting concepts of science. Activities will include: Intro to NGSS and PBL, hands-on PBL mini-units, reflection on PBL experience, and structured collaborative PBL unit design.

Participants will apply the model-based inquiry framework to optimize science curriculum for NGSS-aligned instruction. Participants (cohorts 1 and 2) will collaboratively design an MBI unit for the 2015-2016 fall semester. Prerequisite: MBI workshop or institute.
